Fuel prices in South Africa are adjusted based on several key factors, including global crude oil and petroleum product prices, the Rand/US Dollar exchange rate, the Slate Levy, refinery and import costs, annual wage adjustments for forecourt staff, and octane differences between petrol grades.

• Petrol 93 (ULP & LRP): One cent per litre (1.00 c/l) increase.
• Petrol 95 (ULP &LRP): Eight cents per litre (8.00 c/l) increase.
• Diesel (0.05% sulphur): Ten cents per litre (10.00 c/l) decrease.
• Diesel (0.005% sulphur): Eight cents per litre (8.00 c/l) decrease.
• Illuminating Paraffin (wholesale): Eleven cents per litre (11.00 c/l) decrease.
• SMNRP for IP: Fifteen cents per litre (15.00 c/l) decrease.
• Maximum Retail Price of LPGas: Seventeen cents per kilogram (17.00 c/kg) decrease and Nineteen cents per kilogram (19.00 c/kg) decrease in the Western Cape. in the Western Cape.

The Department processed 1,164 mining-related applications. of these, 185 were granted, 222 rejected, and 75 refused. Prospecting Rights made up the majority of applications, with 597 received, followed by Mining Permits (545) and Mining Rights (22). This reflects ongoing sector application activity and regulatory oversight.

The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources is pleased to announce the publication in the Government Gazette of the promulgation of the Regulated Biofuels Price Regulations, marking a significant milestone in the regulation of the biofuels sector. The Regulated Biofuels Price is in terms of the Petroleum Products Act, 1977. These regulations aim to implement the first phase of the Cabinet-approved Biofuels Regulatory Framework, 2020, which targets a 2% (two percent) biofuels penetration into the total transportation fuels supply to come from first-generation biofuels i.e., agricultural crops. We encourage stakeholders to familiarise themselves with the Regulated Biofuels Price.
