Mineral Resources Deputy Minister, Godfrey Oliphant will engage the South African Women in Mining Association (SAWIMA) through a workshop aimed at highlighting opportunities and mobilising women into ...
active participants in the sector.
SAWIMA was founded when transformation and de-racialisation of the economy were a priority, and was intended to support the vision that the number of women in the sector must be increased, as such an association would help to mobilise women to develop an interest, and to participate in mining.
The workshop will be attended by, amongst others, Mintek, Mining Qualification Authority (MQA), Mine Health and Safety Council (MHSC) and Department of Science and Technology.
Members of the media are invited to attend the two days’ workshop which will take place as follows:
Date: 19 – 20 October 2017
Time 09:00 - 16:00
