I therefore stand before you this evening not to deliver a keynote address but urge you to use this opportunity to unwind from the important discussions you had today.
Ladies, let us seize this opportunity to get to know each other on a personal level, foster solidarity among each other, and encourage one another to take up opportunities that are presented to all women in the economy.
As I step down from this podium, let me draw words of encouragement from a legendary author and activist, Maya Angelou when she said “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”
As we unwind, let us make each other feel better, and remember that we need to come back here tomorrow ready to take resolutions meaningfully improve the working conditions of women in the mining industry.
