The Deputy Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, Ms Phumizile Mgcina will on Friday, 13 June 2025 officially handover Implats Platinum Mine Social and Labour Plan projects (SLP) in Rustenburg, Northwest.

The SLP projects include the upgraded Six (6) kilometre paved road, a low culvert bridge at Maithufi in Phokeng, as well as the full renovation of Retlakgona Primary School in Meriting, which includes a new kitchen, parking lot, sports field, netball court, and clear/vu type fencing.

Deputy Minister Mgcina will be joined by the Minister of Basic Education, Ms Siviwe Gwarube, MEC of Health, Mr Sello Lehari, Acting Executive Mayor of Bojanala District Municipality, Cllr Susan Nthangeni and the Executive Mayor of Rustenburg Local Municipality, Cllr Sheila Mabale-Huma.
