Mineral Resources Minister Mosebenzi Zwane this morning met with the President of the Black Business Council (BBC), Dr Danisa Baloyi & her executives, to discuss the mining legislative framework and related issues which have been in the public domain recently. The BBC is one of the stakeholders which made written inputs on the draft Charter gazetted for public comment in April 2016. The Minister has committed to address the broader membership of the BBC on the critical matter of the meaningful transformation of the mining sector. "We welcome the fact that stakeholders are making use of our open door policy to come and hear from the Regulator, first-hand, on issues pertaining to this critical sector of our economy," Minister Zwane said. "We look forward to continued engagements with the Council, to take meaningful transformation of the mining sector forward" the Minister added.
