Minister Mantashe to visit Tormin Mineral Sands

Mineral Resources Minister, Mr Gwede Mantashe will on Friday 8th February 2019 visit the Tormin Mineral Sands operation outside Vredendal in the Western Cape.

 

The Minister’s visit to Tormin follows his commitment to visit the mine and engage local stakeholders to address concerns raised about the company’s Western Cape operation. The company has applied for prospecting and mining rights in Xolobeni in the Eastern Cape. However, there is currently a moratorium on the processing of applications for that area.

After an inspection in-loco at the mine, the Minister will provide feedback and engage community representatives at a meeting scheduled to take place as follows:

Time: ‪11:00
