INTERNATIONAL ATOMIC ENERGY AGENCY DIRECTOR, DIVISION FOR AFRICA TECHNICAL COOPERATION OFFICIAL VISIT TO SOUTH AFRICA

The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy’s (DMRE) National Liaison Office (NLO) would be hosting the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director, Division for Africa Technical Cooperation, Professor Shaukat Abdulrazak on an official visit to South Africa to engage with stakeholders in the Technical Cooperation Programme. The visit is scheduled for 31 October to 4 November 2022.

During his visit, he will also deliver a Nuclear Lecture at North West University, Mafikeng Campus on the 01st November 2022. The lecture will be attended by different industry stakeholders including those currently doing projects with IAEA on Technical Cooperation. The theme for the nuclear lecture will be “Atoms for Peace and Development: A Vision for Nuclear Science and Technology in Africa.” University student and mathematics and physical science learners from local schools have been invited to understand how the programme is done and how they can also beneficiate from some of the opportunities from the IAEA Technical Cooperation Programme.
