The Deputy Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Dr Nobuhle Nkabane (MP) will host a Mining and Energy outreach programme in Umzimkhulu, Harry Gwala District Municipality, KwaZulu Natal, on Saturday 13 May 2023.

The outreach forms part of government’s campaign to track, locate and pay former gold mineworkers unclaimed benefits, including provident funding and compensation for lung diseases contracted on the job. The outreach will be followed by sporting activities hosted by Umzimkhulu Local Municipality at Rietvlei Sports Ground.

The Programme is implemented in partnership with Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture; Mr Zizi Kodwa, Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo and Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour, Ms Boitumelo Moloi.
