The Department Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) will host the Interstate Oil Committee (IOC) Seminar and Officials Meeting from 10 – 12 July 2024 in Sandton, Johannesburg.

The Interstate Oil Committee comprises member states of the Southern African Customs Union (SACU) – Lesotho, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia and Eswatini. The biennial seminar provides a platform for maintaining regular contact among member states regarding all aspects of the acquisition, storage, supply, distribution and related issues of petroleum products in the customs union area.

The meeting is also attended by officials from the oil industry of member states and government officials that are involved in the petroleum and related sectors.
