MEDIA ADVISORY: DEPUTY MINISTER JUDITH NEMADZINGA-TSHABALALA TO DELIVER A KEYNOTE ADDRESS AT THE 2024 MINE HEALTH AND SAFETY SUMMIT

Deputy Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, Ms. Judith Nemadzinga-Tshabalala (MP) will deliver a keynote address at the 2024 Mine Health and Safety Summit to be held under the theme “Innovate and Elevate: breaking boundaries to achieve Zero Harm”, at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg.

The summit aims to review the state of mine health and safety, reflect on the industry’s achievements and challenges, adopt new milestones for implementation beyond 2024 and to formulate an action plan towards a future where every mineworker returns home unharmed every day.

Deputy Minister is expected to encourage stakeholders to cultivate and sustain a strong health and safety culture throughout the mining sector and, to plead with the sector to make mines in South Africa the safest in the world by protecting the lives and health of every mineworker.
