The Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy, Ms Samantha Graham Marè, will lead a Back-to-School Outreach Campaign on 19 and 21 January 2026 in the Northern Cape and Eastern Cape provinces.

The campaign aims to support learners, strengthen learning programmes for a successful start to the academic year, mitigate learner vulnerabilities, and ensure that learners have access to essential educational resources that complement the provisions of the Department of Basic Education.

This initiative forms part of government’s annual Back-to-School programme, implemented from early January to mid-February, which seeks to improve teaching and learning conditions and enhance overall learner performance.
